Yay baby! Can't wait to see pics. I had C-Sections with both of my boys. The biggest difference between the two was movement. With my first, I was stubborn and was scared to get out of the hospital bed, and I didn't for over 24 hours after the surgery, and I ended up much more sore and stiff. With my second son, I got out of bed about 4 hours after his birth, and walked the halls every 2 hours or so. That made a huge difference. But make sure to get rest when you can! You will have a major healing process to go through. All in all listen to your doc! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWishing you to get through in the easiest way possible. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI had a c-section with my son. I didn't have a lot of pain, surprisingly because it was an emergency c-section and didn't need any strong pain meds over and above ibuprofen. I found I was sore by the end of the day and really queasy the first day or so from the surgery meds. Try to walk a bit as soon as you can but don't overdo it or you'll slow your recovery.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is on Friday, wait and extra day and we can share a birthday ;) Good luck and post lots of baby pictures!
Good luck this week. I hope your baby turns. Have you looked at http://spinningbabies.com/ yet? Also let that babe in there know it has to do some work. No matter how you give birth I hope it is joyous for you and you have a swift recovery.
ReplyDeleteHey! You're almost there!
ReplyDeleteI had 2 c sections. My experience was almost exactly the same as Kimberly. The first one I was exhausted (I had a c after laboring for 10 hours), scared, stubborn, enthralled with my baby. Didn't move. Didn't wanna. And got really stubborn about not wanting to take pain meds for some reason. So I suffered a little.
Second time around the C was planned, so I went in rested and not exhausted. Big difference. And I was confident, with it being my second procedure AND my second child. And I moved. (I worked out my entire second pregnancy, so the thought of sitting still for 6 weeks was not as appealing as my first go-round).
So, I would say keep yourself walking to stay loosened up. And? I felt more comfortable taking my pain meds the second time around too. I wasn't doped up by any means, but I was less afraid to take what I needed to stay comfortable.
How did this comment become all about me? YOU'RE having the baby! And you'll do great. And I'm really happy for you and can't wait to hear how it goes! Many prayers on Thursday coming your way.
Oh! I'm reading this on Thursday so hopefully today is Baby Day!!! Can't wait to hear the good news!
